Globe Summer’22 Season

The Audiences team at Shakespeares’ Globe brought me on to help develop a new approach to their campaign artwork. Post-pandemic, a change was needed to engage a different audience since the drop in the London tourism trade. The previous marketing campaigns had utilised a bold, restrictive colour palette and avoided using full bleed imagery. The 2022 summer season was launched with an art direction to better connect to the Globe’s manifesto of making theatre that’s a ‘live, radical experiment’. We worked with photographer Kate Bones who created energetic, impactful imagery to juxtapose with the historic titles of Shakespeare’s plays.

The images displayed here are a series captured of Kathryn Hunter’s portrayal of King Lear.
